ET501: Topik 1-1

1. Introduction

Most of the factories, the machine of choice as a dc drive or control elements. Among the AU engine is unusual compared with high starting torque and has a range of different velocities that can be operated in both directions round.

1.1 DC Motor Speed Control.
When the machine at work as a motor, the
emf generated (Em) is less than the voltage applied to the terminal voltage (V).
When the machines at work as a generator emf is generated (eg) is greater than the voltage applied to the terminal voltage (V).

2) When the machine works as
-a generator is when emf generated (eg) is greater than the voltage applied to the terminal voltage (V)
-while a motor, the emf generated (Em) is less than the voltage applied to the terminal voltage (V ).

3) Two special use direct current motors, namely:
         i. Having a high starting torque
ii. Has a range of different velocities

4) From this equation can be expressed.
     i. When the large V, the speed will increase in size
ii. When the armature current (It) high, more high-speed motor
   iii. Flux (
φ) is inversely proportional to motor speed. This means when a

high flux, motor speed will be reduced
